María del Pilar Vicente Fernández

IndexCom Board Member

Dr María del Pilar Vicente Fernández is an IndexCom board member and Assistant Professor at Universidad Rey Juan Carlos. She holds a PhD in Social and Legal Sciences, a degree in Advertising and Public Relations with an Outstanding Graduate Award, and a Diploma of Advanced Studies from Universidad Complutense de Madrid. 

She belongs to the High-Performance Research Group in Communication for Social Causes, Solidarydar, and the NODOS Teaching Innovation Group, and also collaborates with the INECO Research Group. Her academic work focuses on advertising, communication, imagery and teaching innovation.

Her research has paid particular attention to advertising communication, political communication, personal branding, social media, influencers and education. Her doctoral thesis analysed the evolution of fashion and beauty endorsements from print testimonials to the influencer. 

She is a member of the editorial team of the scientific journal index.comunicación, where she coordinates the Technical Editorial Council, and has undertaken teaching and professional work in advertising, marketing, digital communication and academic management.

As an IndexCom board member, she contributes to the association's academic and institutional development and its initiatives in advertising communication, knowledge transfer and editorial management.
